NFL “Orígenes” collection features MACHINA
Earlier this year we received a call to be invited as one of the local designers to collaborate with the NFL as part of their “Origenes” collection. The Mexico-focused collection conveys the passion of football with local origins, representing and showcasing the roots and DNA of our brand celebrating the positive impact that we make in our community.
Being part of “Origenes” was a great creative challenge for us to tackle a segment that has been completely foreign to us. MACHINA being known for design, technology, innovation and sustainability had to embed this as part of the NFL world. After all, the NFL has been present in the ‘dress code’ of many people and those are not necessarily fans. Jerseys, caps, among many other team accessories, often connect with the street in a very intense way and end up genuinely translating the identity and behavior of people and groups. Based on our brand DNA and taking football as a main source of inspiration, we divided our collection into three segments.
THE COLLECTION
Nothing beats a high quality hoodie. It is of great importance for us that our garments go beyond seasons and never out of style. There for we manufactured heavy weight high quality hoodies with the NFL emblem printed on high density level. We have this item available in two different basic colorways. Black and white.
T-SHIRTS
100% high quality cotton t-shirts with different collectible graphics all making great resemblance to NFL and a combination of Machina’s futuristic look & feel.
STELLAR
Mexico’s Finest Ring
There aren’t many pieces of jewelry that are more brag-worthy than a Super Bowl ring. The Super Bowl ring is an award in the NFL given to the team members of the winning team of the league’s annual championship game.
We decided to design our own championship ring version. Inspired by the true champion in NFL culture; the avocado. Avocado, the big winner in the super bowl. Mexico is the main supplier of avocados for the US. 97% of the total prepared or canned avocado purchased in the US is Mexican. Mexican dominance is such that it outperforms the US avocado industry.
We placed a diamond avocado at the top with the legend “Mexico’s Finest”. The top can be opened and inside you will find a football field honoring Mexico’s City Estadio Azteca with our logo engraved in the middle of the field. We went beyond details with this piece of jewelry. It took around five months to design and prototype to it’s finest version.
NEW ERA x MACHINA NFL Cap
Your colors, your thoughts, your culture define what makes you whole, what you stand for.
This hat represents what we carry inside. That which comes along with us every step of the way. Paying homage to hardwork and dedication, and using the spotlight of the NFL Monday Night Football at the Estadio Azteca, we celebrate the way we carry our identity.
Your true colors show if you grind enough. Hardwork means difficult scenarios, and the way you approach them defines what you are. A hat that can rest on you and remind you to keep going, even if what waits ahead of you is a rocky road.
With a double layer fabric, the way you distress the upper layer will define the design the hat will show. Making an almost unique design on every hat.
It is of great honor for us to be invited by the NFL. The NFL has been the unquestioned king of attendance, TV ratings, merchandise and revenue for years, with little sign of slowing. The NFL now markets extensively to nontraditional sports fans, weaving itself into the fabric of popular culture. Recently introduced big latinx names as part of their half time show performers such as J.Balvin, J.Lo, Shakira among others.
With a large and passionate Latinx fanbase, as well as a number of Latinx NFL players, personnel, and Legends, the NFL and its clubs are committed to celebrating the diverse cultures within the Latinx community. Last year, the NFL launched “Por la Cultura”; signifying how the NFL aims to champion the diversity and vibrancy of its fans, players, and personnel.
“We are fortunate to have one of the largest Latinx fanbases of any sport in this country,” said Amanda Herald, NFL Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Insights. “It’s important that our content, marketing and partnerships celebrate and serve the diversity within the population, as we know the way our fans and players identify as well as their cultural preferences vary by region, country of origin, language preference, and other factors.”
The NFL is also partnered with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to recognize Latinx youth who have contributed to the sports and fitness arenas.

Por La Cultura Mixtape
The NFL will release its first-ever “Por La Cultura Mixtape” in partnership with production powerhouse, NEON16, led by super producer Tainy.

The collaboration will comprise a series of exclusive tracks, including “Rómpela” featuring Yandel, El Alfa and Will.I.Am, which is the first track on the mixtape and backdrop of the campaign kickoff spot “The Celebration.”
The NFL’s return to Mexico, in continuation of the league’s Por La Cultura(For the Culture) campaign, will feature a week-long celebration of cross-border pride and the nexus of Mexican culture and football. The event will feature activations focused on art, fashion, music, youth football and more.
Headlining this year’s efforts in Mexico will be Pro Football Hall of Famer, Anthony Muñoz, serving as an ambassador for the league in Mexico City. The Mexican-American Muñoz is widely considered to be one of the greatest offensive linemen in NFL history after earning 11 All-Pro selections over an illustrious 13-year career that culminated with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
The National Football League’s 2022 International Series ends its run in Mexico featuring a divisional matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. We will launch our “Origenes” collection at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on November 21st.
